Our little "Kirkey Turkey" is four years old on Saturday

Wow, where have the last four years gone. I can still remember how READY I was to give birth to our sweet little boy Kirk. He holds the heavy weight record at 8 lbs. 15 oz. I can remember being sooo miserable. His birth was so amazing though. He came very quickly with our a hitch. Kirk was an amazing sleeper. He started sleeping through the night when he was only a few months old. He always loved his crib which was a real blessing since Kate was very young, and still very demanding of my time. I look back at those days and wonder how on earth I did it. I'm not trying to sound heroic by any means, but lets just say having two kids 19 months apart isn't something I plan to do again. I can remember carrying Kate in one arm, and Kirks car seat in the other. I didn't think that was hard at the time, it was just my life. Though having Kirk so close to Kate was difficult in some ways, the rewards have been immeasurable. Kate and Kirk are totally best friends. They do fight a lot, but often they will go into a fantasy world and play together for hours. They are really tight, and it's so neat to see them concerned for each other. This type of relationship is exactly why I planned the pregnancies back to back like I did (that and I also wanted a spring baby. I've sworn to never be prego in the summer again). It's now time to go blow up some balloons, and make a pirate flag out of butcher paper. Kirk's Birthday Party is this Saturday and it's going to be a total mad house. I love planning the parties, and doing all of the cute decorations, and crafts, but entertaining 12 little boys for an hour and a half is beginning to intimidate me. Hopefully I'll be able to pull it all off.

of course you can pull it off, you are amazing with your creative birthday parites. I keep wondering how the creative, able to make anything gene bypassed me. Good luck on Saturday and post pictures soon.

Happy birthday Kirk! That is really neat that Kirk and Kate are so close together in age, Lisa. Kaedan and Carter are 26 months apart and I thought that was close! They love to play together too and are always bickering. Tre was born in August and I agree being pregnant in the summer is the worst!! Good luck at the party! I'm sure it will be great and the kids will have a blast!
