My Goodness I can't believe Kate was born nine years ago. My how fast the time has gone, but also how much has changed. This year Kate didn't have a friends party, so instead we just had Grandparents over for dinner and cake and Ice cream. This was the first year that Kate wasn't all that jazzed about picking out her own cake. Usually the kids are thinking about their cake theme months ahead of time. Kate just wanted something cute so I found this Hello Kitty cake idea off of the Internet. It turned out to be harder than I originally expected it to be, I was up till about 1:00 in the morning. In spite of the sleep deprivation I ended up loving this cake especially since that as a child I adored all things Hello Kitty. I made Fettuccine Alfredo which is Kates favorite dinner, and also Zuppa Tuscano which is her favorite soup. For presents she got a fishing pole to take to bear lake and a new leotard for dance. From Grandma and Grandpa she got some art supplies, and some new clothes and shoes and also a lagoon pass for next year. She's way excited about the art supplies, these are the real deal, the brushes, oils, and canvases are all for beginning artists. She'll be taking a painting class soon and can't wait.
