Friday was a super fun day for us. Kirk got to participate in a small way in Dan's brother Michael's proposal to his girlfriend Haley. Yes, it's official and we can finally talk about it he's getting married on July 31st. We've all been so excited, and I was
especially excited to help him in his proposal. He did a scavenger hunt on Saturday with her, but used Kirk to deliver the invitation of a pirate theme treasure hunt.

Kirk had recently had a pirate party so we had a pirate costume all ready to go. I sewed the parrot to his shirt so it would look like it was standing on his shoulder. We made the invitation to the scavenger hunt so that is looked old by burning the edges. Michael came home from work at lunch time to help Kirk deliver it. He of course hid while Kirk went up to the door. He was a little timid so Kate went with him. We had practiced what he's say, but when he got up there he got shy and didn't say anything. Luckily the letter was self
explanatory, but he still looked cute. Then that night Kate and I went on one of our first Mom, Daughter dates. Layton High was putting on Cinderella for their dinner theater. I saw the advertisement and thought that Kate would really enjoy going. We were lucky because we got the last two tickets. So I went to Layton High on
Thursday with all three kids to buy them. It turns out the the effort of
piling all the kids into the car and searching for the tickets and the high school paid off.

The night was so much fun, and Kate had a really wonderful time. At one point during the production the step mother was trying to figure out who Cinderella was when she was dancing with the prince at the ball. Kate quite passionately and loudly for her yelled "It's your family",
immediately the shrugged her shoulders like she had remembered there was a theater full of people around her. It was totally adorable, and I was glad she was so into the play. So here are some pictures of the kids.

Here's Kate with Cinderella. The cast served us dinner. We had steak and Kate cleaned her plate. Everyone on our table was impressed that she could eat her whole steak. Our kids are
definitely good meat eaters! She gets that from her mom.

What a fun night for you and Kate. I'm sure she'll remember it for a long time to come.
Lisa, you look so dang good with bangs. When did you get them?? You are one hot mama! How fun to help with the proposal and I loved the extra touch of sewing the parrot to his shoulder. Glad you and Kate had fun at the play. Love ya.
