Last week Dan borrowed some DVD's from his parents. I let the kids watch E.T. I haven't watched it since I was a kid, and I forgot what a cute movie it was. I went downstairs to do the treadmill for thirty minutes and when I came back up Kirk was crying as the film ended. I didn't remember it being a sad movie, so I asked him why he was crying so hard. He was really upset that E.T. had died. I was confused because he had just gotten on the space ship to go home. Kirk didn't understand that E.T. was okay, and was really really distressed about it. I explained that E.T was okay and he was able to go home to live with his mommy in space and then he started to cry saying that he didn't want E.T. to go. I had to explain that E.T. wanted to go home, just as he would miss his home. Then he started to cry because he wanted to keep the movie. Kirk is sensitive, but I've never seen him cry such big giant alligator teas like these, it looks like I'll have to keep my eyes open for this 80's classic. I don't mind buying it because it is a darling show. I hope they still make it. I just thought it was really sweet how emotionally involved Kirk got into the movie. It must be the age, because Kate was able to understand that it was just a movie and not real.

That's so sad and cute! Don't you just love their little personalities? Glad you're furnace is fixed. It's always something, huh?! LOL...
YOu can still buy the movie, I think target carries it, I bought it last summer for our drive to Colorado. My kids actually didn't like it...maybe now that they are a year older they will enjoy it more, I should let them watch it again. If not you can just take my copy.
